I can state that a number of girl's from our group who attend a young women's group here at Haggerston YIP participated in the women and young people’s safety solutions course run by Sev and thoroughly enjoyed the training.

They found it fun and incredibly useful. 

They felt that the delivery of the course and the actual content was to a high standard. 

They were able to return back to the group at Haggerston and demonstrate some of the things that they learnt on the day. 

The Haggerston Youth Inclusion Project has been running since March 2004 providing a range of activities that have been successful with a number of projects, educational activities and personal development schemes throughout Hackney, to give young people, aged 13 – 19 years, access to these services / opportunities.    

The aim of the project is to ensure that young people are included in mainstream activities by offering support.  All of the activities are free of charge.  The course that Sev ran was important as it assisted the girls to increase their self-esteem and confidence levels on personal safety, especially on the street.

I do believe, after getting feedback from the girls that this course is well worth sending other young people and their parents to in the future.
